Practising faceup on old dolls

Description

Well..... these are actually kinda old repaintings.

I was back home during a holiday a while ago and found my old "Bratz"-dolls. I feel kinda ashamed of having them but mostly that I actually played with them when I was little. I thought they were really ugly back then too (lol) and didn't understand the whole thing about those big heads on their tiny bodies, but I liked the clothes that came along with them and other accessories. It was only Barbie and Bratz among the doll-section back then and Barbie didn't have much exciting fashion to be honest. If dolls like "Monster High" or "Ever After High" were created and sold when I was little, I would be obsessed by those instead.

So... it kind of takes a lot of bravery for me to upload this since this is something I've been hiding for such a long time of my life, especially when I had my "boyish"-period (I hate to call it that because there is so many fucking parents degrading their children to be in a certain phase when they actually is trying to say something, but I dunno what to call it. For me it was an important time to understand who I am today).
I denied any activities that seemed too "girly" in front of others and that also happened when trying to recap something from the past for a friend. I highlighted playing with cars and climbing trees and shadowed playing with dolls and dressing in princess clothes, even if I did both of them. However, that is a different topic that's not interesting for anyone.

It was super hard to shadow the dolls without making it look too fake. You need to be good at conturing the face if you want to make the bratz-dolls look more alive. I'm very dissatisfied with the progress of these.... though it's a good experience. I need to practise more.
These are not finished yet, but I don't like how I painted them so it's more likely that I erase it and start all over again. I just want to upload some things here on deviantart, even if I think it looks like crap. Maybe it gives someone inspiration out there.

Hope you're having a great time! Finally spring has come to north of Sweden as well.
